The TEAL deal

I’m grateful to be welcomed back to work for a company that I respect so much and I’d love to tell you a little bit about why.

The Renewal Workshop is on a mission that I believe in. I’m putting my energy into work that matters. TRW is the leading provider of circular solutions for the apparel and textile industry. TRW is good for people and the planet. TRW creates good jobs, restores value and reduces waste. They have a location in Cascade Locks, Oregon and expanded into the Netherlands last year and they’re a leading example of a TEAL organization.

TRW is currently made up of approx. 70% people who identify as women (with one of the founders identifying as a woman). Right now, the company is mostly white and Latinx. Women and Latinx are in leadership roles and they look for ways to promote within the company. At this moment, they’re working on the Diversity Equity Inclusion program for the company to broaden inclusivity and diversity.

During this time of Covid-19- TRW has actually grown. They quickly turned production into making masks and gowns for medical providers when it was needed the most back in March/April. They also quickly organized to keep the whole company safe and healthy (and working!) by creating A/B groups to avoid overlap or close proximity to others (along with required mask use) for both the US and EU teams.

I feel grateful to be working and in service with the humans at TRW. It’s a company full of smart, dedicated, hardworking people exploring and carving out new solutions.

BTW, if you want to see a circular solution in action and a good example of a brand partnership : The North Face Renewed
